NLP for EFT

NLP for EFT

Ever wondered how Gary Craig gets the results he does?
Ever wished that you could be as consistently elegant?

As well as being the developer of EFT, Gary Is a Master Practitioner of NLP ….. and it shows!

EFT and NLP are partners ‘made in heaven’ and on this course you will learn NLP skills to enable you to take your EFT to new levels.

Increasingly, EFT training organisations are realising the importance of these skills and, where they have some NLP experience, highlighting it in their courses. This is an opportunity to learn NLP skills not from a practitioner but from a trainer with years of experience in delivering certified programmes.

It has taken some time, and much deliberation to arrive at the final syllabus. It all started with a question:

“What are the core NLP skills that will provide the
‘difference that makes the difference’?”

This was an important question because our approach to teaching NLP has always been fun and thorough in equal measure.

You will not be getting a ‘whistle-stop tour’ of as much NLP material as possible.: we want our participants not just to feel the change, but to know how it was achieved, and how to replicate it. We take the same approach to all our teaching.

You will not be taught through hypnosis as an accelerated learning technique. Although unquestionably useful in certain contexts, if you have enjoyed a fabulous, five star gourmet meal, and want to replicate it yourself, being given the recipe and top quality ingredients will not be enough ….. you have to know how to cook ….. you need the skills and the chance to practise them!

You will leave with:

  • A thorough understanding of the principles that underpin NLP
  • Fully, consciously transferable skills
  • Awareness of where and how to incorporate these skills into your practise of EFT - there will be exercises incorporating NLP and tapping.

Level 1 – 3 days (3 CPD Points)

What is NLP?
Comprehensive and experiential introduction to the methodology of
NLP: particular emphasis is given to the ‘linguistic’ in Neuro-linguistic
Programming as it relates to the negative internal dialogue that
supports limiting beliefs.

That voice inside your head
is not the voice of God.
it just sounds like  it thinks it is.

                          Cheri Huber – Zen teacher

Presuppositions

  • The danger of making assumptions about clients – and how easily that can happen.
  • An exploration of personal presuppositions/assumptions relating to your practice of EFT
  • NLP Presuppositions – the bedrock that supports the methodology
  • Exploration of the NLP Presuppositions

Rapport and Sensory Acuity

  • Enhance your ability to observe, listen and sense more of what is actually going on in a session, particularly the subtle non verbal signals.
  • Learn the specific ‘building blocks’ of rapport—so that you can establish and maintain it whenever you choose.

Representational Systems

Explore how we uniquely see, hear and feel the world. Learn:

  • How language affects and reflects our thinking
  • How to elicit your own and others’ preferred way of internally representing experiences
  • To use language to facilitate rapport and the client’s process
  • Eye Accessing Cues – how eye movements can give clues to how people are thinking

Submodalities

We all experience the world through our senses or modalities, Visual, Auditory, Kinaesthetic. Each of these has within it a set of finer distinctions or submodalities. It is the structure of these distinctions, together with the actual content that determines how we internally represent and emotionally respond to an experience. Learn:

  • How to elicit submodalities
  • How to change the response to an experience using submodalities
  • How to use submodality changes for testing

Logical  or ‘Life’ levels and Perceptual Positions

  • Asking questions that get you the information you need
  • Dealing with ‘stuck’ thinking
  • Understanding ‘where a client is coming from’
  • Gaining different perspectives on a situation
  • Using Logical Level statements for the Set Up and creating affirmations
  • Becoming fully congruent as a practitioner

Language Patterns

  • ‘Cleaning up’ your  language’– how to enhance the client’s process and avoid the two-fold danger of interpreting and installing your own mind-reads
  • Recognizing temporal language and using it to help reframe situations
  • Helping the client to think ‘outside the box’

Level 2 - 2 days (2 CPD Points)

Communicating with influence

You will be familiar from your own practice with the power of negative beliefs: they are major obstacles to success, health and wellbeing.

Your beliefs become your thoughts
Your thoughts become your words
Your words become your actions
Your actions become your habits
Your habits become your values
Your values become your destiny

                      Mahatma Ghandi

Learn and have a thorough grounding in two models of language that help you loosen the hold and effect of these internal blocks and limitations.

Meta Model - the NLP language model that enables you to recognise and challenge the deeper thought patterns and beliefs that lie behind a client’s statements

Skill in using this powerful language tool is one of the tools that will set your practice apart. For this reason we have structured this part of  the course to provide a thorough grounding in:

  • Recognising
  • Challenging

individual patterns to ensure that you can fluently incorporate them into your tapping.

Milton Model - language patterns modelled from the work of Milton Erickson, psychiatrist and father of indirect hypnosis. This ‘artfully vague’ language:

  • Speaks directly to the beyond conscious mind to facilitate change
  • Facilitates the client’s process since it allows them to supply their own content
  • Allows things to develop and build on the client’s responses

Creating and working with metaphor

 Reframing

  • Overview of the concept of Reframing, a process of putting a different meaning to a specific event – a positive restructuring of a person’s mental map
  • Recognising the structure of the problem and designing an appropriate reframe
